tis a 1995 1.8 gl wagon, only cost me a grand,
Am insured and it was the 307's fault, it pulled out from the left on a roundabout and just stopped when it saw my mean machine coming towards it, my 19" wheels couldnt grip the wet roads and cause a little skid and BANG, ow my neck hurts~!!! (The woman icrashed into came running over and said "i thought you were turning left"?!?! that was followed by a stern,, "i would have used indicators!!" hehe)
The worsty thing was i have only had it a month,
Am gutted

Yes they are 19" audi/vw wheels,
they pulled out on me so there insurance pays, i am getting 1700, they said it was a right off without even lifting the bonnet up, after taking a look myself with help from a mechanic ithink i can fix for around £1000 (hopefully) so £700 to me hahaha....
Its not gonna be as bad as initially thought but at the moment i have no car so that sucks donkey nuts.....
Is it possible to add a turbo to the 1.8 gl ?? hope so, i heard not many people on here have respect for non turbo's, cant be left out now can i...........

Am I right in thinking your front wings are undamaged and all you need is a new bonnet and bumper or has the engine taken a pounding aswell? If you only need new bumper and bonnet you could probably sort it for less than £400 for a turbo facelift, as for adding a turbo to a 1.8 its probably not the easiest thing to do and not the most practical either really unfortunately!

Thnk the engine is ok, just looks like the radiator is bent up a bit, will post a pic later today of the insides,
Luckily both wings are completly untouched (i cant believe it myself hehe) so its gonna be a bit cheaper than expected....

And if you did fit a turbo or a new turbo engine, dont forget to tell your insurance company, as not telling them would be a big mistake if you crashed it.
Hope you get it sorted, and nice wheels by the way.

1 grand for repair is a lot of money matey. Personally what id do is get your 1700 and invest in a sport. I take it you want to stick with a non turbo for a while to keep costs low, well the sport comes with a few more gadgets than the 1.8 and has a little more of a kick. Trust me I had one n it was a right fun car to drive.
