My gauges
Posted recently but we wired the gauges to the lights which meant my headlights were constantly on!!. It also meant only 7 volts were being sent to the gauges so they were pretty dim. Wired them into where the air con fuse is (not that ive got air con!) and now theyre receiving 12.2 volts and as you can see they look pretty nice!! We also got the oil pressure gauge plumbed in too, just need to sort the oil temp now and im good to go!
If i remember ill take a pic later tonight when it dark

2 holes were drilled in the back of the cubby tray to allow the cables to be sent through the bulkhead to the engine. The gauges have been earthed to the metal frame around the steering column The pod has been secured with velcro and seems fairly stable. The gauges were going to be lit up from the lights but that caused the lights to be on permanantly plus they werent getting enough volts. We tried to wire them up to the stereo today but were met with the problem that the wires were either permanant lives or not at all. Instead the wire for the illumination has been connected to the air con fuse.
The dash is quite awkward to pull apart and you have to give it some, but at the same time make sure you dont break it! Everythings gone back together as it was though without any problems.
The boost gauge is reading 16psi/1.1bar my car being a classic ppp this is spot on. The oil pressure has being reading 96 im not sure how accurate that is though? Still got the temperature gauge to rig up.
Ive only one real quarrel with them really though and thats the boost gauge is very noisy. Its like having a dump valve inside the car and when you lift off the throttle you can hear the needle spinning back round!
The oil gauges calibrating when you turn the ignition on is pretty cool though!
