Default Photo req - Gauges in pre-facelift classic

Looking for ideas of where to put my three gauges (oil pressure, temp and boost) in my pre-facelift classic.

I dont have the luxury of the top glove box on my dash so I cant really use this area unless I get one of those poor stick on jobbies that look out of place as they dont really fit tight to the dash IMO (unless you can show me otherwise).

Was thinking of getting the fibreglass kit out and creating something different.

So where have you put them, come on, lets see em.........

Nice and tidy, looks smart. I was thinking of doing that but how do you keep cool on those hot hot summer days and warm ond those cold winter nights.
Form over function put me off, did it cause much difference to your fans?

Must admit your do lose a bit of the Air-Con when its on, but to be honest, i find the heater & Air-con in my WRX really good, in fact, i would go as far as to say its probably the most efficient heating system i've ever had... i just channel it out the side & lower vents & it works fine...

I was unsure whether to put them in the pod or on top myself, but definatly glad i chose the pod... The topmount pod looks so clumsy IMO... but i'm sure others will say otherwise... personal choice at the end of the day & these do look neat...

I know the feeling on that one (not got mine de-restricted yet either).
Feels like the engines blown when you hit it. Gives me a heart attack every time......

I like that, however I have three I need to install. I guess I could have my boost on my pillar and my pressure and temp where you have yours. Did you need to mod your cup holder? Also I have been wanting to spray mine silver just like yours. What did you use to spray it with, was there any special prep you needed to do to the plastic and does it flake? Looks much more modern.

P.S Go on then, what was the £2 spent on?

Yeah, you wont fiy 3 gauges in there but like you said an A Pillar or single gauge pod in the corner would do the job,and it is best to have your boost gauge nearer your line of vision.
Had to destroy the cup holder, Only the 2 runners left which hold it in place but a cup holder is of no use anyway as nobody is allowed to eat or drink in MY car .Also had to cut a resess in the bottom so the gauges were visible from the driving position.

Any spray paint should do the trick, just take the shine off first with scourer pad. Does not flake either, mine has been done for 3 years and still perfect

£2 was spent on the sticky back carbon effect stuff for the surround.
