Notice he only said Pulsar.... no mention of GTi-R. That looks to me like a GTi with the R bonnet. It definately doesn't have the rear wing or the front bumper of a R. I stand to be corrected tho.

Thumbs up she is nissan pulsar gtr-r

she is nissan pulsar gti-r. me mate took off the massive rear spoiler to the standard sunny wing and tird to remove the bonnet vent aswell. he said the reason to change them is too profile. i don't get it. And he wanna change the body of baby skyline to a standard sunny. confuse all sport car drivers by his final project.

detail spec of purlar gti-r: 345 bhp at 7320 rmp shown on the dyno sheet. ecu remapping and boost at 1.4 bar. samco piping works. fully de-cat exhaust system...anyway good performance little car and i like her aswell.

My friend has quite a high spec track GTi-R. They are very good cars. He has 300bhp with HKS cams @ 1.2 bar. Be very interested to know what mods gave him 345bhp (apart from those mentioned). The standard turbo must have gone as this will not run happily at that sort of boost and the TMIC would not cope.... but i see no sign of a FMIC (i take it he did change the front bumper from the standard GTi-R one).

Do you have any engine picks (interested in the samco parts).

Dint think you could run over a bar with the GTI-R engine with out having major probs. What mod allows you to do so? Just Im running a 1 bar at the mo and want to make mine faster!

i am not quit sure about the major problems at the 1.4 bar boost. it is unbelievable of 345 bhp for her but it is true. some heavy mods should be done on thta engine but we don't yet. i asked him today about the your question, but he said it is top secret...haha

and one more question where can i get the square number plate for me scooby?

cheers

Question

Hmmm... top secret. Sounds more like a load of tosh. Im sure there would be a lot of GTi-R people out there interested how you could get that figure with standard turbo and intercooler (plus the pistons).... do you know the turbo is fitted to the car. The standard unit physically can't flow enough for 345bhp. Unless by top secret he has found out how to define the laws of physics!!

I still think it's a GTi with an R bonnet from your replies...

As ever i still stand to be corrected and ready to eat humble pie.

Tony.

P.s From the pics it looks like standard brakes on there..... i'd say he should think about fitting better brakes as the standard R units definately ain't up to 345bhp (not even up to 220bhp!!)

Sounds a lot more sensible.

Keep probing your mate tho and he may say 'yes it is a Gti with 145bhp'.

What front mount is it? Every front mount i've seen for the GTi-Rs has resulted in the front bumper being cut so badly that it ends up like *** paper thickness where it goes over the intercooler........ the pics you've shown show the bumper not having been cut. There simply isn't enough room for an intercooler with out this cutting... how has your mate achieved this????? The turbo location and front cross bar get in the way.

My friend would be very interested in this for his R.... any pics?

Well irrespective what power its putting out a GTI-R without its rear wing is like a Laydee without breasts!

Its wrong and shouldn't happen. I loved my GTIR during the 2 years I owned it and even when she spat gears all over the M4 I forgave her. Only reason I have my Scoob (although I've grown to love the scoob too) is that I couldn't fit the baby seat in the back of the GTIR.

If I had the money and space I'd run a GTIR as a track car.

Edd.... i have been very very impressed with my friends GTi-R on track. Brilliant in fact. He has done a great amount to it (including now running slicks and a Quafie gearbox) but it really does grip the track.

For the price these go at they are a very real alternative to the scoob.
