I was out today, driving between leek & buxton, loads of fun twisty roads when I saw this...

Can't really tell in the piccys but it was very narrow, twisty & very very steep (i reckon -25/30%), just had a new clutch so thought it would be a good idea to take the scooby down the track & see what was round the corner!

Off we go..!

All was going well got to the bottom with no trouble..

and..

But it got abit bumpy going up the other side, car is quite low..

Got round the corner, just a field full of sheep, was abit dissapointed! lol!, coming back down again was scary, big cliff to the left..

Got my foot stuck in cattle grid for this shot

Parked up, no damage!

Sorry for the poor pictures, taken on my phone

And

Spooks is was fun, trying to use the car as much as I can before my date with the wooden tops (19th Jan) & my immenient ban

it was a weird place though, little tiny farm house with about 200 sheep in a pen, no one about... ran over a large animal turd for a laugh at the top cliff.. was expecting it to be soft, but was rock hard, lol!....Bloody cold too

Watch out for episode 2 coming soon..

Suggestions or ideas Anyone??

Excellent pics and narrative! Lucky there was no other traffic about to see you randomly stopping the car, jumping out and taking pictures of it!

lol, easily amused then?

the whole episode sounds like something I'd do - except I'd have managed to get stuck down there somehow

Hi all, great roads around that area, use to live in Buxton so I know all the twisty dirt lanes There are some good roads just off the main Buxton - Leek road A53. As you are heading towards Buxton past the winking man pub you come to a crossroad, take the right heading towards Longnor, at the start of that road 5 to 600 yards there is one hell of a jump & the rest is pure fun If you want a fast twisty road then try the A5004 Buxton to whaley Bridge, then once you do that go to the goyt vally 4 a chillout & an icecream Then out of the goyt & that will take you onto the cat & fiddle road. Give them a try if you like them i have got loads more to surgest Happy safe driving.

Tim
