Here are some 225/45/17's from an STi 7 on my MY00 Sport



Unfortunately, they caught at the front on full lock and the rears rubbed on the strutts under hard cornering. I have seen them fitted fine on other classics by dropping the tyres to 205/40/17's

These rims are 7.5jj whereas the MY03 WRX rims are only 7jj and so I am now running them as they have fitted perfectly on my Sport with the original 215/45/17 tyres

I've got 225/45/17 on my rear tyres - cant have back passengers cos even the slightest bump rubs - time to get the arches rolled methinks!!! 215/45/17 on the front is perfectly fine though (MY00 classic, P1 alloys)

Ive got Toyo 215/40/17's on them and they fit fine.

Also the correct tyre size for a clasic turbo on 17's is either 205/45/17 or 215/40/17.
