Looks great, we was discussing this a while ago but unfortunately mine was delayed by a month. Will be getting it now on tuesday.
So it looks the part, but how was it to fit.

Dead easy to fit - much easier than I thought and I'm useless at DIY. It came with a roll of double sided tape and as I bought mine from the European distributor in Holland, Davy R sent me the pads for the bolts and the grommet for the brake cable.

I'd printed out the thread where we were discussing it and followed the instructions there. The brake light came out of the original spoiler pretty easily - I used a screwdriver with a bit of cloth around it to lift up the two "wedges" and then undid the two screws. I put the light into the Rallytech and used some double-sided tape to hold it in place - that stuff is REALLY strong!

After that I did a trial run fitting the spoiler on the boot without the bolt pads and then put them on and added the tape. Before I put the spoiler on I took one of the original nuts and went over all the threads on the bolts as there was a bit of paint on them so that got rid of it. After that, called in my neighbour to help me get it on the boot, and just tightened the nuts. I didn't use the grommet for the brake light as it wouldn't fit, so I got some silicone putty and put that into the hole in the boot lid where the brake light cable comes through.

Really easy to fit and I'm very, very happy with the look of it. 700 Euros very well spent and 1000 Euros less than Subaru want for the Prodrive version...they can keep it !

I agree, it looks sssoooooooooo much better than the board.
Im relieved to hear fitting was ok, i've heard so many stories lately of so called problems putting it on.
I've been so pi55ed off with this waiting lark, but now thankfully it's almost over

Nice one frenchie & roll on tuesday

Davek, it really WAS very, very easy to install, no problems at all. Here's hoping yours arrives on time and everything goes as smoothly for you as it did for me. What colour are you getting? I'd like to see some pics of the installed product !

Hmm...a rallytech spoiler thread?

Now what's next? Roof vent or pimp tints? I think a bug just bit me

Edited cos I can't spoll.

Felt sorry for myself today so treated myself to a prodrive gearknob & surround, to go with the secs moniter i got last month.

Damn, i've only had the car 2 months & the modding disease as carried on from my old classic.

Is there a betty ford type clinic for people like us.

LOL ! Betty Ford...japanese style-ee

Missus just asked me what I would like for father's day...I asked for guages (oil, water, turbo) for the dash...she looked at me as if to say "do I know you anymore?"

Looks like that bug bit deeper than I thought

one of my mates bought one of these for his bugeye, think he got the boot too because it wasnt much more and was predrilled and reinforced for the spoiler which takes about 15 bolts

Dunno why it would need 15 bolts...there are additional holes in the spoiler if you want to go that route (not 15 tho') but the standard 4 holes are plenty. It definitely feels solid enough to me...like a rock.

I'll give it a run at 200+ km/h to see if there is any rattle and to see if there's a difference in the downforce, but that's going to have to wait until the gendarmes, police and army have disappeared after the G8 summit...can't do anything over 50km/h at the moment as every 10th car is full of cops, there are helicopters constantly in the air, and the army are patrolling everywhere on the border.

Sodding G8 - spoiling my spoiler fun - well just a little

dunno the exact number but was bloody loads about 12-15 odd lol. He bought the genuine subaru item so if yours was a replica perhaps it has less bolt holes in it....

Ed - will post a pic tomorrow - I give her a shampoo today but just as I was finishing drying her off, a storm started so it was into the garage double-quick.

Big Goon - anthracite is a word that keeps coming to mind
