interesting that the spoiler has detached - since the bottom half is the standard sti item - just the top is changed for the P1(IIRC) - held on by 6 bolts all in a line ? - I have never heard of jap spec cars having problems with the spoiler - I wonder if they take it off at quedgely during the preparation stage?

wheels look terrible - now I know why folks are complaining - you have every right to be hacked off with this kind of trouble so early into ownership.

hope you get it sorted satisfactorily

Aaron,

How far down the road are you to getting this solved with the dealer / Prodrive ?

I would've expected you to have it sorted by now, as they don't seem to have a case to argue.

Aaron,

I think my 3 year old son could do a better job of cleaning the car...give it a wash for goodness sake....I understand your problem with the pads and the sh**e that's been deposited on the wheels and parts of the doors, but for gods sake take it to your dealers, phone customer services & prodrive and leave it at the dealers until it gets sorted out....they will soon get pi55ed off looking at a sonic brown P1...

I had an E36 M3 Evo before my P1 and couldn't get anywhere with the dealer until I got BMW customer services on the case and suggested that I might drive the bloody thing through the showroom window if they kept ignoring me and surprise, surprise I had a phone call saying they would collect the car and sort it out, needless to say 4 days later and a warranty bill for £2.5K the car was sorted.

Red face

But I thought Brown was the new Black

Sorry m8, couldn't resist. So whats the score with IM/Prodrive? Are they actually doing anything about the problems?

I wouldn't even entertain cleaning the wheels, get IM to replace all bl**dy 4 of them.

Anyway, hope it gets better soon,

Stefan

Question

Mike was good enough to call me yesterday.
Lets wait and see what the outcome is.
I look forward to being pleasantly suprised.Although I still have my doubts.
And stop telling me to wash it. I cant for Christs sake. This is as clean as it gets!

Question

Arron,

Why has the pic showing the side of your car disappeared?

Raymond.

Had the new disks and I think DS2000 pads fitted. My dealer is cutting and polishing the car on Saturday. They tried a cleaner and jet washer but it would not all come off.
Looks even worse on a silver car.

Thumbs up

Claybars ( from Wax Wizard ) worked a treat on my P1's flanks after the DS3000's deposited crap all over them ( it was n't quite as bad as Arron's )
