Photo Competition - Winners
#1
Hi all
Firstly thanks to everyone who entered across all the categories an appologies for the delays in posting the results. I was surprised and pleased to see how many entries we had and the enthusiasm for the competition - as anyone who visited the members gallery during the competition will testify, there have been loads of entries.
The winners by category...
Arty - Stu200
Jap Import - Owlboogie
NA - rsarte
Non Scoob - alanp
RC car - Scrappy2
Squashed Scoob - Turboteeth
Tart Car - Trouser Was there ever any doubt?
Track Shot - John Felstead
UK Car - ChrisB
The overall top 3 are still TBA. I'll try and get the judging finished soon. Thanks again

Well John, quite apart from the shot not being yours anyway, I thought that as track and motorsport pix were so different that they had individual categories.
I seem to recall there was a good shot of a Pug, together with an outstanding watersplash pic of a Scoob, and it's a shame they didn't get some recognition.

Martin,
Funnily enough, I was thinking about it when this one was announced.
I'll start talking to a few people, to see if I can rustle up some prizes, but would like to arrange one for a little later in the year, once there have been a few track days, motorsports events and decent weather.

Thanks for cheering me up Josh.
It's a little tricky taking a shot like that whilst driving the fkin thing. I said when i posted it, that it was a picture of me driving the car, now you have a go about it?
Your not happy about the two categories being combined? Dont you think now is a bit late to moan about that?
Thanks for running the competition, some wonderful photographs been posted there! Chuffed to bits one of me driving won a category, especially a nice shot from the Nurburgring.

Why does everything on this site have to end up like this? In the next one I'll ask entrants ask permission of the photographer before they enter. Maybe you'd like to charge a fee for using your shots? Do you ask permission to sit at the tracks snapping other peoples cars I cant believe yourmoaning when they show of the pictures.
What's the point in a photo competition, where the entrant isn't the photographer? It just boils down to who can steal the best pic from the web otherwise.
In any case, the photographer owns their work, and nobody has an automatic right to copy or publish someone else's photo without permission - even if it's a photo of their own car. That said, I've never known a photographer refuse permission for a non-profit-making exercise like this, but it IS still necessary to ask. Josh didn't sound too p*ssed off to me, but he'd have every right to be.
Congratulations to all the winners, and I'm looking forward to the next comp - provided that it's a competition for pictures that Scoobynetters have taken and not stolen.

This was suposed to be a competition for pictures that Scoobynetters have taken and not stolen. I asked the judges to take this into consideration when judging, along which some other criteria.
I dont want to fall out with Josh maybe I was a bit harsh in my posting. The essence of it was suposed to be that in a way Josh won too - it was his picture, and that its all in good fun
Its just a little sad when after all the effort the decisions are criticised.

I'm not quite sure what you're ranting about here.
As far as the Track/Motorsport issue is concerned, I simply thought it was a shame that that they weren't in separate categories. Hardly a damning critisism of all your efforts. Also the the pic I refered to wasn't ripped off, I know the guy who took it.
As for your other comments, I'm seriously confused. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the competition threads were for people entering their pix in the competition. If that's the case then it's taking the p1ss to pass a pick off as yours, and defeats the whole object of the competition. One guy even entered a pic of mine that was scanned from the proofs, so he hadn't even taken the trouble to buy a copy.
Finally. If you read JF's post, and my reply, you'll see that he was light-heartedly implying that my comments were a reflection on the winning pic, and I simply making the point that it wasn't his pic anyway, so he shouldn't take it personally. After all, since when did anyone take anything JF says seriously

Oh, and I forgot to add that JF's pic was nothing to do with me. I specifically chose not to enter, as I felt it wasn't apropriate, and I couldn't have taken the humiliation of not winning
