Craig,
Wow! Now that looks like the makings of a really quick trackcar! You couldn't keep up with my scooby ( * ) though!
Moray
( * )Terms and conditions: My choice of road. No racetracks or flat well maintained roads! I have heard stories about such roads still existing, honest! I'll shall lose you at the first speedbump! (I wonder when it was that speedbumps stop being sleeping policemen?)

Catflap - You are dead right,
we tried numerous other power forms
Milk Float motor - downside batteries weigh to much
elastic band - needs to be a long one - takes ages to wind
curry - both eat chicken phal - farts would give a good turn of
speed but the car would stink.
solar power - yeah right - in england hahahaha
flinstone stylee - foot power.
It seems the busa engine weighs in at about 90kilos (with all ancliaries, gearbox etc).
If anyone knows of anything light, relialble and easily generate 200+ bhp let us know

I think Ian mentioned reliable so the flat four thing is out the window
Plus it's way too heavy.
Oh - and it won't fit
And it has got a sequential box.
Or do 35mpg.
But....
300hp/lb ft would be fund in a 450kg car.......

Looks like you have been busy chaps, i'll have to pop down and have another look. Good stuff!

John,
we have indeed been busy. So busy in fact I've stopped checking if my finger is in the way of the rivet gun .
Today one of my pinkies is twice the size it should be. It doesn't even hurt as its still so numb I can't feel anything LOL.
You know you are more than welcome to pop down whenever you like mate.
So...tell me more about this atom...are you using an XTRAC sequential box with the K-series ??? Looks like we have some competition

I wouldn't call the Atom competition - we will be driving a car built by monkeys - the Atom is built by people who know what they're doing
We're gonna need a support vehicle just to collect all the bits that fall off
lol

LOL and Ouch!!!!!!
The Atom should be pretty special, we are building it to be used in the Nurburgring 24Hr race, so a lot of thought has gone into making it a strong alround package. The engine has a one off plenum/supercharger setup with 8 injectors plus 2 water injection inlets. Quite a lot of the internals are unique so it is rather experimantal, hopefully we have got it right. We are using two chargecooler rads in the mid section, one F1 spec front rad plus oil cooling at the rear. Fuel system is one of my twin pump and swirl pot specials with a one off tank design.
Gearbox is a Gemini 6 speed sequencial, it is the same box they designed for the F1600 WRC MG rally car gwyndaff evans is driving, but setup for the race track. We have a full Dataloging system and a steering wheel mounted dash system with all the parameters trigering warning lights, otherwise its just a tacho display unless you call them up on demand. We are working on the brakes at the moment, not sure what we will end up with but they will be full race spec 4 pots.
It's taking a long time to put together because we are not using normal spec Atom kit, such as using roller bearings in the suspension rockers, race spec rosejoints, bigger brakes, diferent engine and box, exhaust system, fuel system, cooling system, wiring loom, management system etc etc. Lots to do yet!
It should be worth it though, top speed should be around 180MPH on the gearing for the nurburgring, that should feel quite quick.
I havent had a weekend off in ages, but will try get down soon and see the beasty.
