Hi all, thought I’d post some pics up of the car as it’s been a while since I last did.

Cheers mate, the car comes up clean with a good clean and wax but like most she does have stone chips and marks dotted around.

As you can see I previously owned this blobeye non widetrack which I sold when my first child was born, was gutted to sell it but had to at the time. I then bought a 1 owner (I'm the second owner) 2005 widetrack and set about getting it to the same spec as my previous one.. Slowly coming together

I bought my latest one completely standard. 2005 59990 miles odd, I'm second owner... Then I started buying bits for it then off it went to scoobyclinic for the parts to get fitted..looks wise it's not far off what I want it to be and its cost thousands...next will be engine mods for around 420 to 450bhp...big thanks to scoobyclinic.

Cheers mate... All the parts are brand new...bola Wheels,ns2r tyres, godspeed disks, pads, bc coilovers, hel brake lines, calipers are freshly rebuilt and repainted, fully serviced, cambelt kit etc...all that got fitted in the 1 go around 2 months ago at scoobyclinic.... Its off to scoobyclinic this week again for a couple bits and remap... Again 6 weeks ago it has a brand new japspeed fmic, perrin intake, I fitted a cobra downpipe with haywood and Scott Centre and backbox...down the line il get the headers, injectors, boost solenoid, map sensor and probably the sc42x... For the time being with the vf35 I'm probably looking at 330ish I guess? Need to have the car driveable so just getting it mapped to accommodate the mods.

Very nice! Looks like you've got a good winter project there.
What's your end goal in terms of power and will it be a road or track beast?

Just a road car mate and regarding the power, my last blob had the sc46 which was a tad laggy so il drop down a turbo to the sc42x and hopefully gain abit of spool whilst still running 440 odd if these turbos are as good as there meant to be.

I think around 450 is the sweet spot for a road car, I've just swapped out my turbo for that reason and it's much more drivable now.
I would have gone with the SC42x too but they have no stock (I think there's a delay on the Garret cores..)
In the end my mechanic convinced me to go with an AET hybrid unit and it's very good. I'm running 430 at 1.6bar and hit full boost around 3700rpm.
We're going to turn up the boost a bit next week which should see 440-450.

Sounds nice, do you have any graphs? The turbo you have there is what I would ideally want

I have a thread on here:
https://www.scoobynet.com/members-ga...za-uk-sti.html

There are some graphs of the old and new but I find that the dyno doesn't really reflect how it drives on the road.
I'll post another update after the next mapping session (4th dec).
AET did offer a slightly larger turbo that would have been around the 500 mark but I decided to go for spool rather than out and out power.

Some spec you got there mate, plus it's lovely looking motor....wish I could afford to forge the engine and get the syvecs etc.. I'm actually considering selling mine early next year but if I don't I will put more money into it and get it to the 450bhp mark.

Thanks bud!
I never intended to go forged but you know how it is! Lol!
I’ve certainly spent a lot more money this year than I had intended to! 😬

Well I hope you end up keeping it because it’s a great looking car.

As you mentioned earlier 450bhp is usually the sweet spot with the blob sti engine without going forged, did your original engine **** itself or you just bullet proofing it?

No. The original block was fine, it’s only done 42k. It’s sitting in my garage now!
I got a good deal on the forged closed deck block which is the only reason for changing really.
