Well it's about time I was back in a Subaru again. I sold my Type R variant in 2010/11 then had a wee bit of time away before picking up a nice WT Blob Eye in 2012. That went in 2013 and I instantly regretted it - even more so when I had to run a R32 for a while. I picked up a nice S4 after that but had another itch that needed scratched in the shape of an E46 M3. I've had that now coming up for 2yrs and it's the only thing that's come close to making me smile as much as the Subarus. Evo, S3, S4, R32 - all a massive let down.

Anyway, I came across a Hawkeye STi in need of an engine rebuild and after some negotiations and discussions with engine builders, it was picked up last week and shipped down to the inlaws for safe keeping. It helped massively that the car was only a mile from my house! Right place at the right time for once.

Here's the first Subaru that I had which started the fondness of the boxer:





Then the Blob which, for me, was the perfect blend of performance and comfort on the road. Someone offered me good money for it and that was the end of that. It's now worth a fair bit more than I sold it for though.





So, now to the latest addition. I'm keeping my M3 so that gives me some time to get this one done and to a spec I'm happy with. It will be a forged EJ257 with a few extras but nothing wild. Externally it will stay as is maybe with the addition of some black winters.





And one with the M3 that should be fun this winter if the Subaru isn't finished before the snow kicks in up here!



I'll keep the thread updated as I go and once the build starts next week. I'm still looking for some parts so if anyone has any of the following that would fit my car then please let me know:

3" Exhaust - prefereably HKS, Blitz, RCM or Apexi.
Ported headers
Harvey up-pipe
Uprated fuel pump
Re-circ valve - Forge or Turbosmart
Possibly a FMIC

Nice looking car just love them in black although I'm a little biased great start for a forged build buying one with a blown engine
