My new Blob MY05 STi PPP Widetrack in blue, Finally!
So I've been after a Blob Widetrack in Blue for ages, actively looking for around 6 months but they seem to be so hard to get hold of, usually advertised hundreds of miles away from me and normally by dodgy dealers for crazy prices... very disheartening as I've been desperate for one for many years.
Also, this time last year they were not quite as expensive and more readily available, supply and demand I guess!
Anyway, I was fortunate enough to be contacted by a member on here who had one and fancied selling and wasn't too far from me, so without hesitation I was down there like a shot and bought the car... woo!
The car was pretty much standard bar an uprated fuel pump and remap, very well looked after engine wise and kept in great nick, full folder of receipts and history. The only thing it really needed was a seriously good clay, polish and wax as the paint was looking a bit tired. Luckily a hobby of mine is detailing .
This weekend I got underway with giving the car a major detail. The paintwork now feels like glass and looks stunning!
I also fitted some scoobyworld mudflaps, a HT Autos front splitter, a new front badge and some new mats.
I have some future plans which include an Afterburner Raptor exhaust, HKS SSQV, possibly a decat downpipe and map tweak (but has the prodrive sports cat so happy for now), and some wide/aggressive Rota Grid Drifts on a set of coilovers, but will need to save for them for a little while. Also planning to repaint the bonnet and bumpers as they have some stonechips and im a bit of a perfectionist.
Having had a chance to get some proper photos yet but heres some quick ones from my iPhone.

Not planning to go mad on it, few subtle mods and new wheels / coilovers / exhaust but will be keeping the standard bits anyway so can always revert back.
Undecided whether to go for a full decat and have some pops and bangs mapped in or to leave it with the sports cat. Sports cat is staying for now anyway.

Haha its okay i know what you're saying.
Dump valves can be removed in minutes and pops and bangs can be turned back off if not to my liking
Regardless ill have all the standard parts if i ever want to go back and none of my mods will be difficult to reverse. Id usually put a car back to standard when selling anyway.

Its only a weekend / toy car, i use a company car as my daily, so more thab happy for it to be have a hard stiff ride, ive had a lot of cars with coilovers and i actually like the harsh ride, feels sporty. My missus has a Type R on coilovers and its rock solid... But good fun to throw about. Tbh i dont see why theres such gripe about coilovers on here... Personally i love them

Thanks people.
I bought a clay mitt, it was the G3 one that halfords sell, and i can happily say it is excellent, so much better than a clay bar, and SO much easier and faster. I use it with quick detailer.
I have a rotary machine polisher and i use 3M fastcut compound to polish it which takes ages! And at the moment im using Collinite 313 wax, although i have dodo juice and autoglym HD wax that i dont use much anymore.
Planning to buy some Gtechniq soon... That stuff is incredible

Couple additions today:
so I fitted my new Afterburner Raptor cat back exhaust system from Scoobyworld, what an awesome piece of kit. Fitment is perfect and the built quality is second to none, really impressed with the weld etc and the sound of it is awesome, really nice deep rumble. I may put on a full turbo back decat system, as but its a Prodrive model it already has a sports cat in the downpipe and a 2nd pipe decat, so I thought i'd start with a cat back non-resonated and see how it goes.
Off with the old prodrive system:
On with the new:
Also decided to de-tango the headlights and paint the chrome inserts black.
I had the inserts professionally painted in gloss black, which I personally think looks miles better than when people paint them matt or satin black, gives it a nice evil / modern look from the front. Also had to put in chrome indicator bulbs.
