Talking Winter wheels refreshed and on....

I've dropped my old set of wheels back on for winter park up plus to run the early part of next year. It's amazing how much a wheel design and colour can change dramatically to look of the car.

I had them refreshed through a contact in work bead blasted and powder coated, it was a bargain but I had little colour control which for my second set I was happy to go with, they came back a little different to what I had in mind but that was no problem at all.

Before

And then after..

By coincidence the wheel colour is virtually the same colour as anything bolted to the car on the underside

This is the original Subaru gold finish they had...

Very different looks when you view them together.

Really like the colour choice,i am contemplating having mine done in a similar colour. Only issue i have is no spare rims to use,so not sure of a way around and how long it takes!.If can be done in a day then no probs......

What colour did you ask for?

Cheers guys... When I picked up the revs second hand they had a set of tyres on, very good ones infact so when I removed them I decided that I was going to freshen up the Sti rims and fit them as a second set. I had tried to clean them back by hand to rattle can as I was not looking to pay much but they were to far gone to clean back by hand.
Basically I was quoted through a contact to bead blast and powder coat so I simply said Anthracite/Dark Grey and took the gamble I passed them over and my contact brought them back so I did not even meet the guy that was doing them.
I was told after he under quoted for the job as he did not realise how large the wheels actually were until he had them but he stood by the price. I'm very happy with them they make a good contrast plus I was more than happy with the price.... I had a price for simply bead blasting them locally so I could rattle can them and the difference was £20

Ven - Never used this particular one myself, but they all seem to get good reviews and you can drop the car off on a morning and pick it up later that day

You've gotten just the right shade, on the refurbed wheels. Wheels that are too dark just get lost in the wheel arches, IMO.

Some wheels seem to suit gold, Revolution Milleniums do, as do Rota Boosts, STI 7 wheels don't though, they suit being anthracite.

Thanks Micky and I agree completely there... It was that delivery WR1 wheel that's the best shade they ever did for these.

No not after all the effort... Sorn until the spring and I'll be running around in my old series if and when it snows
