Default Our new demo car has arrived the New STI!

After using our beloved 22b as a development car for the past 12 years the time has come for us to put our experience to use on the brand new WRX STI

The car will be on site at Scoobyclinic tomorrow from 9:30 please feel free to pop in and have a look

I hope you'll agree that Subaru have got it right in the looks department and with the help of one of our power plants it should go rather well too!

Can you give us any info on your plans with regards to engine mods etc. And will you be taking the engine to bits to have a good look around to help understand if and where the changes are?

Maybe its a bit of a grower. when the bug came out I thought it was horrible but I quite like it these days.

Id say the front has a look of a sharp Japanese girl ninja about it, but the backside, Essex girl Saturday night size 20...both could be fun, just not together.

The big question is, will widening the track (as lets face it it looks like it has a huge body sat on top of some go cart chassis) will destroy all that research and development Subaru put in to make it as good as handling as it can get (within the typical governmental parimeters for safety regs etc...

I'm sure SC will make a great car out of this, but I was dead set on buying one of these when I heard about the release, until I saw a picture of it. It just looks wrong.

Personally, if Subaru feel it is a good place for it when they could of opted for a front mount, I trust them, all those millions of pounds in R&D and testing..cant do that in a garage.

Top mount is fine for the standard power of the car & on top of the engine it's less likely to be damaged. However above standard power it's not adequate & will need a FMIC.

Not exact true, I run way over standard power with my top mount and its more than adequate and reliable

Like I said, at the power the car comes out of the factory with the top mount is perfectly adequate. However the more you go over standard power the more your standard top mount becomes a compromise. Subaru didn't build the car just for us to modify & tune so the top mount makes sense. Not saying your top mount doesn't do the job but many people find the top mount holds higher powered cars back due heat soak poor air flow & general inefficiency.

Perfect for reducing lag though up to about 400bhp.

Someone once said to me "Theres no need to bolt on after market bits to a Subaru, they come chaved up from the factory" I hope it performs better than it looks.

Fugly, I'd have opted for the new coupe jobbie, but I suppose you have to move with the times.
