Default ODB2 Connection missing

Dose any one know the colour/shape of the plugs i should be looking for to find out what has happened to the ODB2 port on my Impreza GC8 1997, The lower section of the dash had already been removed and all wiring and bits cable tied up out of the way.

Sorry and I should have added the ODB2 Port has been removed with the dash but the connections must still be there.. I'm guess i should just order a new port then use that as a reference to find the plugs it fits to, but it would be good to know the fittings are there b4 i order one, Thanks for you time would love to hear if you have any ideas Cheers T

I'm pretty sure classics don't have an OBDII port and they were only added to newage 2001 onwards.

97s don't have an OBD2 port. For the record, I have a 97 T2000. I have read also that only new age have it.

As Matthew said, the check connectors are under the steering column. Two black and two green. Only two are used to indicate any stored faults. Can't remember which two though. Again, a quick search will show how to use them. It's very simple!

They trigger a sequence of flashes of the check engine light on the cluster. Whatever code it flashes corresponds to a fault. For example code 23 is the knock sensor I think. That would be two long pulses followed by three short pulses of the check engine light.
