Plenty of places, behind the hazard switch comes to mind.

BUT: it'll still be live when you switch the ignition ON, so your LED will alwys be on.

You can get over that by using something like this: http://www.maplin.co.uk/5a-miniature-relay-37515, wired so that the LED is fed through it. Once the ignition comes on, a gfeed from the ignition OPENS this relay and switches the LED off.

Back of the radio you will find both switched and permanent 12v feeds

Take a feed from the fuse box, or up behind the glovebox you will find a few but will need a tester with you as I'm not sure of the colours off the top of my head if you already have an alarm in their you can take your feed from that, or T in to the existing led if it is still operable

i did tap into the existing led but it made both of the dull so looking for a 12v live after ignition off and dont want it to still be on when the car is running as it will still shine at night when i am driving

if you remove the steering cowl there is a connection off the ignition itself, this terminal is only live when you turn the ignition off.

Don't rely on colours, it will end in tears, they change from vehicle to vehicle, let alone by model

Get one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-CIRCUI...item563a0e4542

And find it yourself.
