Default Hawkeye Rear Wiper Arm

2006 Hawkeye 5 door

The rear wiper motor is not working therefore replacement obtained.

Taken the 10mm nut off the wiper arm but the arm does not want to come off the motor shaft.

Aluminium corrosion apparent. Soaked it in plusgas but with the rear window being there you cannot force anything.

Anyone any other ideas apart from waiting and soaking every few hours with plusgas.

After soaking in plusgas for a few days, the only way to get it off was with a puller.

Not good.

A lot to be said for smearing CopperSlip onto splines, threads etc when assembling.

Assembled with Coperslip as it probably failed as a result of a bike rack being on the rear window.

So could happen again as I forgot to take the fuse out on one occasion.

I've had to change the entire motor/linkages on the wife's Xantia when the wipers were activated when frozen solid to the screen

It stripped the splines off both linkage arms, they seemed softer than those on the actual arms.....which is silly!
