There was the plastic `cup` and wires with plug in connectors.....I think 
Maybe I should look and see if I can use what I have then.

I would like to do this with my blob as well. As i never fitted the HID kit i dont know whats ment to be there and whats not?
There is the HID box with two cables attached but i dont know what i need to swap it back to normal.

Usually, on a modern car, there is ONE multi-way plug from car loom to light.
Have a look and see if it is still there, maybe taped up, on the end of the HID wiring.
Then all you need to do is remove the HID wiring, the link from the battery, if present, and plug the car's plug back onto the headlight.
SHOULD be simple enough.......

TBH, it would have been easier to take the headlights out....oh and those Halfords Ultra Brilliance....not bad At least it`ll pass the retest MOT

Strange thing. I went for the retest and he said the beam pattern from the drivers headlight isn`t quite right. He showed me on the wall and it didn`t look quite right He said it`s a pass...just, but it won`t give me a lot of light on that side. He said maybe I put the bulb in upside down 
Even if that was possible, it wouldn`t affect the beam...would it! Last year there was no problem but I`ve since bought these lights from here. Anyone got any ideas what may be up with it?

Ive done that before on my Mrs car, put the bulb upside down and it did effect the beam pattern. I didnt know you could put a bulb in upside down until it went for its MOT.

Ffs, don`t say that, it was a bloody nightmare to fit them. Be less hassle taking the lights out Saying that, I did try both ways cos I couldn`t see which way they went.

It IS possible that the bulb is either wrong way round, or fitted badly: slightly at a slant.
And even a mm difference in filament placing will cause the beam focus to be poor.
Never mind, headlight removal is always easier second time round.
I can now change a bulb in our Xantia in under 15 minutes, and around the same in a classic Scoob, headlight out.

Well I did notice that the bulbs are a bit loose. The retaining clip doesn`t seem to hold them very tight at all!!!
I`ve had the headlights out at least 3 times now, it`s a doddle
