Default newbie with a query, what is this?

I noticed when i was doing my routine checks a connection with nothing attached can you tell me what its for please?

I can see its a Sport model, but you might want to mention the year for more help.

I wouldn't be shocked if you saw more unused plugs like that. I'd imagine certain parts of the wiring loom are there to cover all models, including the Turbo specs. So certain things won't be used on yours at all.

its a 2000 model mate, yeah i thought something along those lines, but wanted to make sure, it looks like the connection is getting damaged from the wet etc, any suggestions?

Cut the end off a decent plastic bag, the sort that stuff gets delivered in, rather than the cheap off the roll kind. Pop connection in and wrap tape around the wire, sealing it.
