Default indicators

hi hope some one can help!
i have morrettes on my classic with sidelights in them so i decided to fit my indicators into my original sidelights,wired them up fitted orange bulbs and they work only problem is they flash faster now because bulbs are smaller?do i need to fit resistors to solve problem
if so what will i need thanks

Indicator bulbs have to be 21W for the flasher relay to work properly. And by law

The solution is to find some 21W orange ones, or silver that flash orange, that also fit the bulb holders.

but they are 501s capless bulbs not seen them in 21w the ones fitted are 5w

%w are of no use as indicators. I think you may have to change the bulbholders.

Would these be any good?

Ref 382c...might be too wide., it says 16mm.

yes there to big had a look at some of those in local car spares shop
dont no if changing bulb holders is a option to be honest
can i not fit some resistors so they flash at rite speed?dont think they will check wattage of bulbs when i take it for mot,its git full decat and it passes

Hmmmmmmm, I'm not sure I'd go there, your front indicators show other drivers what your intentions are and are 21W for a reason: so they can be seen.

If you fit a resistor, it would dim the bulb you were using, unless fitted in parallel to increase current draw.

thats what i meant so it draws more power,same as the 21w bulb so they flash correctly
the bulbs that are fitted now seem bright enough

Try one of the present ones next to a 21W.
