Default Oil light / gauge question??

Hi all

I have fitted Swoosh gauges, and used the popular extension T piece to retain the original sender. When I first fitted it all seemed well but lately I have noticed the dash light is only really dim when I turn the ignition on and my gauge permanantly reads in the red (less than 20psi)

The oil level is good and the engine has no knocking at all.

I refitted the sensor into the block again today thinking it was a dodgey earth but still get the same.

Any ideas??
Is the feed to the oe sensor an earth feed or a live feed?
Could it be the gauge sensor that is sending iffy signal?

Not sure what to do next

Car is a 95 WRX

The feed to the sensor is live, via the bulb, and when the sensor sees low pressure, it allows it to earth and the bulb lights up. So it's a sort of switched earth.

What happens to the light if you remove the gauge sensor and just fit the OE sensor straight into the block? If it's OK, then the problem is the T-piece.

You need a good connection from it to the block and from both sender and sensor to T-piece.
