Question km to mph clocks changing the mileometer

As above, I've just bought a fresh import version 5 type r and the speedo is reading km's as is the mileometer. Now i know i can buy a converter to change it over, but that will make the mileage on the clock wrong with most it km then the rest adding to that in miles. Can i legally have the km's converted into miles and if so who would do it? or do i just have to leave it as it and add the converter and let the mileage run on top of the km's?
I hope that make sense?

Cheers

Look in the back of the Autotrader, plenty of companies advertise mileage correction.

Photo, before and after of the correction and I doubt you'd have any problem when coming to resale if you did. Although, there are people who would "cook the books" ...

Legally, I've no idea.

Cheers Micky, yeah its the legality of it that bothers me, i do seem to recall seeing companies doing that.
