Default petrol flap light!

hi peeps.silly thread really but does anyone know where to start looking for probs as my light does not illuminate when petrol flap open.is there a seperate fuse for it maybe??i know its not that important but if things are fitted i like them to work lol.

Is there such a thing? I have never seen it because Im generally stood beside the car filling it up.....again!

I don't recall my old Bugeye having one, but I seem to remember one of my old Scoobs having a picture of a petrol flap on the dash with an arrow to remind you which side the flap is on .......

ah yes thats right remember now it is to tell you what side it is on

Agree with ZS Phil, it does not light up it just informs you which side your filler cap is on.

ah,that would explain things then.i just assumed it was a light as under the flap is a plunger type switch but i guess this could be part of the alarm then!cheers guys.

oh and just one more thing,as its a scoob and filling it up is almost a daily occurence you would think remembering what side the flap is on is easy !!!

We all have temporary amnesia now and again, I think it must be to do with seeing the cost of the petrol we put in.

I think you will find it is not a switch it is what releases the flap when you pull the leaver next to the drivers seat..

I always thought it was meant to be a warning light too and never worked!

Ha Ha !! what a coincidence.This very same thing has been bugging me for weeks,and i decided to strip mine down tomorrow to find out why mine is'nt working.
