I have a strange noise that seems to come from the ABS relay unit.
When I turn the ignition on (no engine start) I get a click, click, click noise from some on the drivers side wing.
I have taken the relay out and cleaned it as well as the grey and black cables going into it but this has made no difference, if I remove the relay the noise is gone.
After the click, click, click noise there comes a whooshing noise that seems to go down the exhaust.
Any Ideas?.

You haven't connected the black and green connectors under your dash have you? Relays click and the fan comes on....

Also your check engine light flashes...

i had a tick tick tick noise from the waste gate solnid...is it that? when i had it looked at at Speeds Subaru way last year they said they all seem to do it.....if i want i can have it changed (£65ish) but nothing to worry about..worry if it didn't do it, HE said!!

I haven't touched the black and green connectors under your dash and the check engine light doesn’t flash, but my dealer did reset the ECU about 6 weeks ago, but I guess that’s using select monitor?.
I could well be the waste gate solenoid, the whooshing noise sound very much like something is being released.
I’m dropping it in to the dealer tomorrow morning, so I’m hoping its nothing major.

Tick, Tick, Tick is the ABS relay.
The whooshing release noise is the fuel pump.
Getting a new relay, but the pump is nothing to worry about apparently.
