The 80XT is the lamp, but be careful - that particular one shown is the long range pencil beam pattern - does exactly what it says. Handy for lighting up the pimples on a gnat's bum at 2.5 miles, but not much lateral spread - it is literally a VERY narrow long range beam. For all round driving, you will probably be better off with the drive lamp pattern (which unfortunately has a ribbed glass not clear...).

Ahh yes, I can see on the beam pattern 20deg beam pattern at what looks like miles away!
Oh well maybe not the best choice then..any idea's what model number the standard glass lenses are?

I've got the 80ProXT spots fitted to my MY00 and they have clear lenses. Got them about a year ago from Clevedon Autospares (sorry dont have number) so they may be superceded by the XPs, I dont know. However, they are superb. Fairly narrow beam but when properly aligned complemented by Phillips vision plus (equally as good as PIAA bulbs), they turn night into day! Especially on winding country lanes with high ditches etc. See list of dealers on PIAA website.
Hope this is of some use.

The trick is (if you can buy individuals) is to have a pencil(clear lens) beam on the drivers side and a Driving or virage(patterned lens) on the n/s so you get best of both worlds. This is what we do on road rally setups and in stage rally lamp pods. May not look too good asthetically (big word!!) but is the best for driving.
The problem with the subaru setup is that they are too low down, the design was for fog lamps which are better lower and apart.
I have a set of Cibie clear lens driving lamps and cannot fault them for looks but as earlier posts mentioned need some diffusing!

I have an MY00 with 80ProXT's Drive Beam Pattern - lined them up on my garage door in daylight - don't need anymore adjustment - these things throw light everywhere
Timo - It's easy enough to buy the lenses seperately.....now....where's my cheque book

I'm interested in getting a set, seen on the PIAA web site a nice looking pair of XP80 Pro's, are these they ones that would fit MY00?
They would look cool as they have clear lenses, not seen them on a car yet...where can I get a set of these babies
