Default trying to get my fog lights working ... have i wired them wrong ?

i have a jdm STi wagon and it didnt have a fog light switch when i got it but it did have fog lights, so when fitting the front indicators i saw the fog lights had a connector that looked like it connected them to the main light wiring loom so i connected it as i found a matching plug in the bumper, then i found out i needed a switch whcih i duly bought from ebay, there was a wiring connector behind the dash already for the switch ..

today i fitted teh switch .. the fog lights "dont" come one when i press the switch (although the switch lights up) but the side lights "do" come on when i press it !!

have i wired it wrong ? i mean it cant really go on any other way the plugs fit correctly .. have i missed something ?

A lot will depend on the switch, ie: which model it's off, and what model YOU have.

They HAVE to be the same, or all kinds of crap happens.

Also, don't forget that foglights shouldn't come on without the sidelights and IIRC dipped headlights too.

Is there a relay ?
You need to download the manual and check where it is... and if it's empty then stealers or breakers to get one...

My car had neither fitted !
