ok, ok, so I lied about not asking anymore morette questions
They are good, but the modding bug has hit me hard, and I'm wondering about HID.
Now, I'm about as intelligent as the son of the village idiot and his sister, but I seem to recall that you can get aftermarket HID solutions, and I think they look a lot like H4's thus you'd simply replace the H4 bulb with the HID one, then plug the HID gubbins into your existing headlamp connector.
am I mad, or am I correct?
how much would a kit cost?
I'm guess we're also talking about ful main beam only and not HID for dipped main beam?

markus,
the hid kit in an H4 fitting only has one filament and so cannot be used in standard headlamps for main and dipped beam. Only way to do it is to separate them into morettes, as you have done.
From here you can choose which you want to do.
Each kit is roughly £400 but when coming to do it, I am sure I might know someone cheaper.
I would go with HID main beams, then dipped if rich enough, then if mega rich do the £600 spots too.

Adam,
glad to know I've gone the right route with the morettes. To be honest it'll probably be next year until I really decide to go HID, and by then I should have my nice movit breaks, maybe

Markus,
I'm looking at HIDs for the main beam only part of my Morettes.
Be interested to keep in touch with what you find.
Chris.

I use HID in the dipped part of my Morettes. You can drive country lanes without using high beam.
The pictures of my car in Japanese performance really show the difference in light quality.
Superb. Cost £400, fitted, incl vat.

<Technically inept question alert>
If you have standard headlights, could you fit the single filament HID bulbs just for dipped beam?
Would this be legal if you had driving lamps for that come on with 'main beam'.
