Default copper deposits on battery terminals

not on my scoob, but a kit car i have
may be a silly question, but is this a bad thing? i started wondering whether the copper was being stripped from the coil and deposited on the battery terminals due to some fault somewhere.

i presume it's copper - it's that colour but appears to be almost liquid - bit like a paste of some sort.

i'm no expert, so thought i would ask the question here first!

alcazar - had a quick look on the web for copperslip/copaslip and having read a little about the stuff (the garage is closed so can't answer the question for me until monday morning) you could be right.

i'm less concerned now so going out for a blast!

They also use it to stop sulphating/corrosion of the terminals.
