In front of the handbrake on my MY96 WRX is a small switch. I dont have the foggiest what its for or does, any ideas. Yes i have pressed it and nothing really happened???

 

if you're still sat there then it's not the ejector seat

any chance of a piccy to give us a clue (symbol etc)?

 

Mirror folder is my guess if its an import

 

Nope, i've found the mirror folder. It is between the handbrake and gear lever, a black tilt switch with a red dot on it Slightly smaller than a 10p peice, tilts forwards so the red dot is down.

I have an after market cat 1 alarm, so it may be linked to that, but not sure.

I have switched it with both the engine on and off, it doesnt seem to do anything!!

This isnt a retro fitted fog light switch is it? as the imports come without rear fogs but are needed for SVA.

Bad placement if it is though!

 

Could be to turn off the interior sensor for the alarm ?
