Default Aiden Titnac.Hellllllp please !

Hello all,
New member here and the problem with my 1998 wrx sti is the speedometer packs up now and then, causing the car to backfire in low gear at high r.p.m. Also,it sometimes cuts out when idling, say,at traffic lights.
The fault showing is the "Throttle position Sensor"....
Seeing as the fault is intermittant,I am wondering if anyone has had the same fault, and if so,what is the remedy ??
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.......Thanks
Aiden.

Not had this fault, but check the plugs to the gearbox (under the intercooler, below the turbo) not a very nice environment to be in if your an electrical plug

One of them is the speed sensor from the gearbox. This drives the speedo (electronicly) and the ECU takes alot of info from the back of the speedo.

The throttle pos sensor is on the sde of the inlet manifold intake. Don't get many with these.

BTW Welcome to Scoobynet
Pity it's under these circumstances.
