Warning light on dash help
Help please. What is the warning light that's just come on my dash. I've just been working in the engine bay and under the car, taking the downpipe off. Warning light is next to the oil light, and is two parallel lines, with wavy lines coming off the top. WRX '94 import. Not seen this light on before - car runs sweet, but need to know tonight as I need the car tomorrow.

Don't be shy !
Come on guys & gals, somebody must have a handbook. It's getting late, and after 2 late nights under the car in the nice rain, I was hoping to put this to bed early !

O2 SENSOR
Hi,
Left the Lamda sensor in downpipe, but unplugged under airbox. Reconnected, but maybe got a bad connection, or not pushed it in far enough. Would a bad signal cause this light to come on, if so many thanks - will go and check now.
Cheers,
Mart.

Hi mart the best thing to do is to disconnect the battery for 15 mins to re set the ecu then try it again. you might find that when you un plugged it with the battery still connectrd it didn't like it. try that it should work!

Tried the reset, but didn't work. Any other ideas.

Hi Mart, the only other thing i can think of is that the lambda sensor might be knackered, or sending a duff signal, try taking it out using a 22mm spanner & cleaning it in petrol. if that doesn't work it could be that the cat might be blocked!!!
