Question bit of a long shot - weird electrical problem, is it a dead battery?

is this a sign of a dead battery or a short somewhere?

my rev counter flickers on and off when i use the brakes/indicators as does the stereo (which is the annoying bit ) am i not drawing enough current from the battery (it shows 14 volts on the meter, but it did stand for a long time over the winter - 6 months at least) or is this some weird electrical short that im never going to find?

Sounds like an earth problem with the instrument cluster/ centre console.

Check all the earth points under the dash (esspecially around the instrument cluster)

Perhaps you should look at an earthing kit they seam to improve things so i've heard, mind you looks like you have a standard earth prob first.

Check you ECU earths first i would say too .

It's because you have a clowns car and it's not the wipers etc that are slow, it's YOU

Seriously though, change your battery. Bet that's what it is. My car started doing all kinds of wierd stuff as the battery lost life. Intermittent stuff, windows got slow, alarm went wierd, lights, you name it. Changed battery and BAM!!! New car.

Goes better too
