Hi Guys

mccltd
You can also check the archives as there are about 30,000 posts on this subject
If you are still running std fogs a driving lamp conversion makes a BIG difference. I am using PIAA's with 120w bulbs. Same as the Prodrive/dealer kit but get them from Graham Goode as cheaper.

Sunlip
Mornin mate - you're up early considering no school today...

Hi Chris

PS mccltd - you should know Sunil has more money than sense (but doesn't have much sense)

Question

What is your budget?, at 80 notes a pair, the PIAA BC2 Superhwites are an excellent performer but certainly not cheap!

Thanx for the replies,
I think 80 quid is going a bit far, but I'll try out the Halford ones to start with.
I take it it's the ones that state there 30% brighter?
Whats the blue ones like that they sell, any1 tried them?

Dave.

Hi Guys,

Well seing as i dont have much sense, i dont have to have that much money to fulfill the "more money than sense" saying.

Dave TS - no skool but plenty of totty around central croydon working satruday jobs, doing paperrounds and loafing in shopping centres

Dave - you will find that "pure white" bulbs will give a better performance than "blue tinted" ones.

Evening Dave T-S, Sunil

Dave

As you are new to the board, this probably won't mean anything to you, but you are very privileged to be in the presence of a (nearly) serious post by Dave T-S. Drop by the Muppet section to see what I mean

You're nearly right - but DINKIES and Carolyn will probably earn more than me this year (payback time for shamelessly supporting her these last seven years... ) - my excuse is I am just stupid

Dave,

just put some Bosch "blues" on MY99 - look pretty cool - but only in the dark, when you can see the blue hue.

However, they are also a lot brighter than the standard bulbs - and Bosch do some "super blue" which are 30% brighter, but my local Halfords didn't have any, but this are a lot better anyway.

Question

Matt,
I am also looking for some 30% brighter bulbs for my MY00. Do you happen to know the wattage of the Bosch "super blue" bulbs ?

Cheers,
Raj

Question

Guys,

One thing I've noticed since putting in the new bulbs is how dim the side lights look now, real yellow.

Anybody upgraded these aswell? Is it possible?

Hi Matt

PIAA do some super white sidelight bulbs for about £8.You can get them from places like Demon Tweeks.
I've got some on order to go with my new EWC-1 super white headlamp bulbs.I was a bit sceptical about paying £60 for a pair of bulbs but after using them while out watching the rally at the weekend I'm well pleased with the improvement over the Halfords bulbs I was using.

Cheers Chris,

Is that £8 per pair or each?

As much as I'd love to spend £60 on a pair, the £20 for the new Bosch ones is definitely my limit! But I might have to have a look at these sidelights.

Erm, just to put things into perspective, the standard sidelight bulbs cost about 1 pound a pair!

You know what, last night once i posted that i thought i'd better go back and edit it to say "without a microscope or telescope", but good old hill billy cousin shagiing dave beat me to it and i never bothered.

Dave, even with an electron microscope or a space age telescope, you still wouldnt be able to see yours - as a consolation i suggest you keep playing with that other worm you have on your pc - its probably the closest you'll get
