Door open light on dash staying on!!!
#1
My MY98 wagon was bumped into a while ago. Had to have the rear bumper and the tailgate replaced. After having that done, the door open lamp on dash is staying on constantly, which means everytime I lock the door and arm the alarm, it gives off a warning beep. Check all the dooors, and they are all shut ok, nothing loose or anything. The boot shuts really nicely, with the gentlest feed of the force.
I spoke to the guy that did the job for me, and he said that he replaced the whole mechanism from the old tailgate, and there is nothing wrong with the loom on the car side, suggesting that it could be one of the sensors on the doors. Any idea, anyone???
Thanks
Keigo

Sounds to me like one of the sensors is bust. They are just pegs on a spring with a contact at the bottom so that when the door shuts on them they get pushed down and make a contact.
Check that none of them have been snapped off - even partially as if it is a bit shorter it won't get pushed all the way down. Also make sure the wires are still connected to them all properly. You should have one for each door, one for the boot and one for the bonnet.
