I have an MY96 P Reg Impreza Turbo (UK) The car was first registered in January 97.
For Xmas the other half bought me a set of the Blue Dash Bulb from Gecko. Eagerly I fitted the bulbs and I now have a nice blue set of clocks, but when I removed the clock binnacle I found the that there was a wire missing from the centre of the clocks, I found it and plugged it in. To cut along story short the Airbag warning light is now on all the time and upon investigation the Airnag in the steering wheel is not plugged in because it has the wrong connector for the wiring loom in he steering column.
Does anyone know whether Subaru use a generic ECU for the SRS system and it's simply a case of the changing the short length of loom under the steering column or do I need to get another Airbag the will plug onto the connector.
Suggestions anyone as I'm stumped (which usually doesn't take that much when things get technical!!)
Also what does MY stand for when refering to MY96???
Please excuse my ignorance, i've only had a scoob for a few months
Cheers
Ed

Without wishing to be boring, I have to advise caution.
1) AirBags carry a hefty explosive charge. If you are not 100% sure, get an expert.
2) The connector is probably wrong because the wrong bag is in the car: This may or may not mean that in an accident the bag will cause more harm than good; possibly even kill you.
Good luck with it!
