Just out of interest I took the fog light covers off my STi today to reveal....nothing! Just holes in the bodywork.

I'm a bit suprised there are no fog lights fitted as standard. Has anybody else taken a look under their covers?

I was surprised that the foglights were'nt in the main headlights etc. But then the foglights on my old Mk1 Impreza did very little, so there was no great loss.

The situations compounded on the Prodrive STI in that the mounting plates are'nt there either

Could've saved yourself some time and looked for the front fog light switch first.

Blimey, I'm amazed I didn't notice there was no front fog light switch. Goes to show how good the weather has been since I got the car!

I thought that the fog lights are now intergrated into the front light cluster?

Yes it's a bit bare beneath the Prodrive version barge boards. But I have a plan said baldrick Making some replacement covers (so not to damage the oringinals) up in Carbon Fibre with adapters to house projector Fog lamps

Quenby's fitted HIDs in the holes under my STi's blankers at the front. Apparently Subaru told them that you can't fit lights into the non-prodrive STi, but in actual fact you can. I think it improves the look of the car, as well as lighting up the plcae like a lighthouse.

Cool

"Like a lighthouse"---why, do your hid's rotate, or flash out a signal?
Only joking, mate, it was exactly what I was going to suggest.
For "can't be done" in the UK read "we can't be *rsed to try"

You definatly can fit the standard OEM fogs in an a non Prodrive STi as I have em in mine. In fact they were fitted by the dealer (part of a load of extras I blagged).

The real bummer is that to fit the STi covers you have to remove the lamps as the bar that holds the fog light in place gets forced out of the way by the fog lamp dish. A bit of 'adjustment' requred there me thinks...

Ids,

Do you have any pictures? I was thinking of getting the driving lamps from TSL and fitting them to my ukSti stardard..

Mind you, I guess that the switch from Subaru is proberbly more than the lights themselves.....
