Cool WIRING HELP

Hi folks,

I am currently starting a restore and engine swap on a limited black full nav edition Forester SH 2.0TD

the car has a kenwood nav unit, but I am having to repair the wiring due to wire crimp block damages.

can anyone supply the full uk wiring diagram set for a UK limited black with nav, reason is I have added the steering phone controls buttons but need to know where to run the light blue / white wire from column connector B68!

need the pin out for the 24 pin nav unit connector with all pins and wire colours identification for a 2009 build.

here is the nav unit

Below are the Navigation system wiring diagrams for MY09 RHD Diesel model

From other model wiring diagrams the steering wheel phone controls appear to be only fitted to Audio system only models...
except for this one, a LHD Chinese market MY11 WRX STI

From this, you would probably need to change your clock spring/ roll connector to get sufficient connections

In case you need it

Hi Don,

really struggling to get my navi wiring repaired and adding the blue/white wire from B68 connection pin 6 to unknown navi connection per drawing navi rhd -o1 as I have yellow wire on A15 (i50) connector , any chance you have the navi unit pin out of connector i50 (24 pin) I suspect it goes into one of the pins, but no idea which for phone control 3 buttons.

Your Navi unit should be a Kenwood FXHD07JGF2 unit - Subaru Part number 86271SC000

The equivalent unit in a UK WRXSTI would be a Kenwood FXDD07EF2 unit - Subaru Part number 86271FG020 superceded by 86271SC020
Neither of these show wiring for phone control.

You may need to contact Kenwood for pinouts of the various sockets.

Having checked the parts database, the MY11 Chinese market WRXSTI sat nav with phone control is Part number 86721AJ560 which "appears" to be a DENSO supplied unit.

Many thanks Don, could you advise if the last of the SH before new mk4 foresters which were updated before end of line have any different wiring diagrams available, the ones which got face lift dashboard and indicators in the mirrors?

No apparent updates to Navi system in the MY12 versions.
Although they did come with either the 86271SC121 or 131 model sat nav depending upon market.

This unit could also be fitted to the the MY11-13 European WRXSTI, if specified, but as previous no phone controls fitted.
Phone controls (outside of China) only available to cars with just the Clarion audio system, unless upgraded to a Pioneer Sat Nav (as happened in the UK for MY11>13)

Good evening Don,

I have with your help managed to completely replace and rewire the centre stereo dash wiring 🎉🎉🎉

would you happen to know any way to get access to the radio code entry screen on the kenwood factory head unit without having to go to Subaru!.

I have the radio code and been told that All the 2008-2009 kenwood touch screens have an unlock code number 7602.

but I need to access the input screen, apparently in the immobilzer section of diagnostics

I have an Autel unit, but don’t know which immobiliser section it might be??

any guidance or a work around would be great.

thanks Rob

There is an Immobiliser section in the Control systems (diagnostics) section of the workshop manual. Unless you have the specific subaru module in your code reader/diagnostics equipment you wouldn't be able to access it.
Most setups (eg. market destination; security setup; door locking setup; etc, etc.) are done in the Registration of the Body Integrated Unit (under LAN communications diagnostics section- see attachment) but nowhere have I seen anything relating to Nav or audio system setup (doesn't mean there isn't though - maybe a separate publication).

Nothing in Keyless Access with pbs section relating to Navi or Audio either

Yes both Navi and Audio systems are linked into the Low Speed Canbus system controlled by the Body Integrated Unit so is possible that what you have been told is correct but I haven't found it.
Attached are the diagrams relating to Low speed canbus with push button start (CANRD02) and the Diesel model Immobiliser system (IMMRD01/02)
