Are we getting BP Ultimate
#3
I've been thinking about this as well. Is it true that it's not coming here?
I know we are nothing but a pack of bog-men but some of us have moved on from donkeys. In financial terms the petrol companies are always telling us how tight their margins are so surely any tiny increase in turnover would be important to them? Now, I can't guess how many people would fill up with Ultimate but say it was even 1000 and we each spend 1000 quid per year. Well, there is another million in turnover.
Any company that can turn down another million quid in turnover does not have tight margins if you ask me!
Perhaps we could use a similar line in letters to the press to put a bit of pressure on them?

Hedgehog I think individual petrol stations stocking the fuel is more a problem even if the companys do agree to send it over. The big Esso in Ballymena is even considering removing SUL as sales are low and its taking up a pump or two. Sorry to be so negative as I would love to see the fuel here as much as anyone else

That is a good point, it doesn't matter how many interested parties there are in the country if we each visit our own local petrol station and so the average user per station figure works out at 0.15 then it's not worthwhile keeping a pump for something you don't sell.
In saying that my local garage now has 3 SUL pumps and I believe they only used to have 1.
Perhaps there is still scope for at least a little email to the BP folks? I bet they have a contact email address on their web site and if they see some interest, specially as Optimax isn't already in the market here, then it might be enough to tempt them.
Must have a dig around and drop them a line.

You did tell them you were from Northern Ireland???
Sounds like a very diplomatic answer. We know it will cover the mainland, but they always seem to forget about us.
I may be a pessimist, but I also doubt Shell will bring optimax here. Even Shell garages are becoming thin on the ground, after all Shell owned garages closed down.

Stevie, He knows where we are from, The source is involved with Shell and also based in N.Ireland so I guess that means it could be comming here after all, spured on maybe by the thought that possibly BP will bring in a rival fuel.
I wont be holding my breath though just incase

The Ultimate fuel is only 97RON not 100 as some boards have reported. Would still be nice to get it though and force Optimax into NI as well.
