Would you mind not posting in upper case letters ( caps )
Caps usually represent that a person is shouting and is considered rude
Just in case you didnt know

Punchestown 2002, ‘WORLD RALLY EXPERIENCE’
THE WORLD RALLY EXPERIENCE
PUNCHESTOWN RACECOURSE
GATES OPEN 9AM
SUN 21-JUL-2002
Price Range: 20.00
A bit pricey though, and it seems that the entrance fee is going up each year.
IR£10 last year which equates to:
Live mid-market rates as of 2002.07.17 08:30:34 GMT. WARNING: IEP is obsolete and is no longer legal tender. More info
10.00 IEPIreland Pounds (obsolete) = 12.6974 EUREuro
1 IEP = 1.26974 EUR 1 EUR = 0.787564 IEP
Which means that putting it up to €20 is sticking the arm in a bit.
Or maybe I’m just being tight, but then it is more money for parts.

Record-breaker Colin McRae set for Punchestown Rally Experience
This Sunday, 21st July, the world's most successful rally driver Colin McRae will be in action at Punchestown Racecourse, Naas, Co.Kildare, when he competes in the Punchestown Rally Experience.
Fresh from his record breaking 25th world rally victory on last weekend's Safari Rally, the toughest event in the FIA World Rally Championship calendar, the Ford Rallye Sport driver heads the impressive 40 car entry for this one day rally spectacular.
Probably the biggest name in world rallying thanks to his spectacular driving style and millions of devoted PlayStation gamers, 33 year-old McRae will drive a Ford Focus RS World Rally Car on the asphalt event and give his huge Irish following the rare opportunity to see the former World Rally Champion in action on Irish soil.
Heading the Irish challenge will be current Irish champion Andrew Nesbitt in his Cuisine de France Subaru Ireland WRC. Winner of the Jim Clark Memorial Rally last weekend, he will be aiming to make it four wins from as many starts.
Multiple Irish champion Austin McHale, who played an important part in the resurfacing of the stage for this year's event, will start at no.3 in his Toyota Corolla WRC ahead multiple Belgian champion Patrick Snijers. Seeded No.5 is Letterkenny's James Cullen who will have Keith Duffy of Boyzone sitting alongside him in the Wrangler Impreza 555. Glengormley's Derek McGarrity rounds off the top six.
The event's only female competitor will be Natalie Barratt who is taking a break from her world rally commitments to give the Hyundai Accent WRC its Irish competition debut. Natalie, who is no stranger to Irish rallying, is looking forward as much to the craic as to the competition.
Another interesting entry is former champion jockey Richard Dunwoody. Winner of numerous horse races at the Co.Kildare venue, he will swap four legs for four wheels when he shares driving a Ford Focus with Irish rally legend Billy Coleman.
The brainchild of respected former International rally co-driver Ronan Morgan, the event is the highlight of the Irish motorsport calendar as it brings some of the biggest names in rallying to Ireland for this unique rally.
Gates for the Punchestown Rally Experience open at 9:30 with the first of eight runs scheduled for 10:30.

COLIN FREE TO FIGHT FOR VICTORY
http://www.rallyteamireland.com/news/ptown3_1207.html
It has been confirmed that former World Rally Champion, Colin McRae, the No.1 seed for next Sunday's World Rally Experience at Punchestown Racecourse, will contest the event in full and go head to head against the clock with Ireland's top rally stars. It was feared that McRae might be limited to driving demonstration laps in his works Focus WRC, but the Ford Rallye Sport team has given Colin a free hand to compete for victory.
A provisional list of the top seeds for the Punchestown Spectacular has been revealed and it includes leading Irish drivers such as Andrew Nesbitt, Austin McHale, Daniel Doherty and James Cullen. All will be itching to measure themselves against McRae, as will former European Rally Champion, Patrick Snijers, who returns to Punchestown following his 2001 appearance in a Group N car. A total of forty invited drivers will take part, and a number will be accompanied by celebrity co-drivers for the day.
Last year's Punchestown event saw Nesbitt and McHale tied at the head of the leaderboard at the conclusion of the day's procedings, but the scenario of a shared victory is unlikely to be repeated at the 2002 World Rally Experience, as the timing will be carried out to the tenth of a second on this occasion.
Over 12,000 people attended the equivalent event in 2001, and that figure is expected to be exceeded in 2002. Tickets are priced at €20 and can be obtained from Ticketmaster outlets or online at www.ticketmaster.ie
All of the cars which will be competing in the World Rally Experience will be on display at the New Punchestown Arena, on Saturday July 20th, between 2pm and 6pm, and a round of the Motorsport Ireland Autotest Championship will also take place at the same venue. There will be no admission charge on the Saturday.
The Sunday timetable sees the gates open to the public at 9.30am, with the first untimed run on the clockwise stage following at 10.30am. The first timed run gets underway at 11.15am. After three timed runs the stage will be altered to run anti-clockwise, and competitors will again get a chance to familiarise themselves with the layout, before three further timed runs are held. The last timed stage gets underway at 4.45pm.

I rang Punchestown Equestrian Centre this afternoon and they have been informed that you can buy your tickets at the turnstile. She had contacted the organisers to enquire about this due to previous enquiries regarding same. Ticketmaster are looking for £15.50 per ticket in the north and €20 works out at roughly £13GBP so i think I'll buy my ticket at the door thanks.
Additionally the nice lady at Punchestown said that the organisers would prefer if you bought your ticket through Ticketmaster so they can keep track of the numbers (and line ticketmasters pockets)but she was assured that you could buy them a the door.
(There I go again wingeing about the money, you'd swear i was tight)
I hope you can, because it seems that I am going now.
One wonders if anyone else is, or am i just being ignored because i'm only a newbie, even though i lost all my posts from before and had to start all over again? Ah well. Perhaps its the information overload...........................

McCrae was absolutely fantastic, the way he lined the car up well before he came to the corners, and the donuts at the grandstand, true entertainment from a brilliant showman.
Took me ages to get back to Cornflake too, especially with the nightmare of Drogheda causing a few cross country detours. Made it in the end though, thankfully.
The day was helped immensely by the nice man standing outside his house about 1.5miles from punchestown, looking for a reg from his home county in northern cornflake. He came up to us and gave us his two tickets that he wasn’t going to use. So we certainly made use of them. Many thanks, not that you may ever see this, much appreciated.

Kungfu:
I hail from Western Cornflake about 1hr 21 mins or 52.2 miles away from you. J Approximately I assure you.
I actually thought that Dermot Carnegie in the Ford Focus Rallycross Car went even faster but then they were probably pretty evenly matched [correct me if I’m wrong J]
Thought the way they shot up the hill to the left of the grandstand was fantastic and taking that rocky dusty corner up there as well…. Super cars & Super drivers.
I’m looking forwards to next year already.
Might even head over to the last round of the WRC this year , just to keep the head full of ethanol. J

I thought it was crap compared to last year. No doughnuts at the end, easier track layout, etc etc all made for a reasonable boring day. I think last year with Burns and Loix was a bit to good and spoilt us all.
