Cool

So who's going?
Are there any social plans?
Has anyone organised any meet & greets with Subaru (like has been done in the past with the Catalunya event)?

I am down for the week leading up to the event stopping in a hotel in Trier. If nothing has been done as yet, if someone can provide me with the Prodrive contact details I'd be happy to do the donkey work of trying to set up meeting with the team if there is interest.

Cheers, Nick

I'm going! Staying in Trier with Chris L, my Dad and Richard Gledhill and we also have passes for Subaru on the Friday along with the German scoobynet contingent.

We're driving over in the scoob and meeting Richard in his scoob over there. Which hotel are you staying in? We're in the Primavera in the centre of town.

Sal

I'm driving over with my Mum and Dad (although Mum's stopping by the pool I think!) - heading over on 19th and coming back on 28th.

Can't remember the hotel name off hand - I'll dig it out and drop you an email...

I've got Rally tickets on order, but how can I get Subaru passes...nudge nudge wink wink

Sal & Alastair,
Thanks for the info. I'm sending off an email today to try to get on the full day.

We're stopping in the Hotel Villa Hugel just on the edge of town. Are there any plans for meeting up for drinks etc, or does everyone just converge on Friday?

Can't wait now....

Cheers,
Nick

Nick, I like the idea of all meeting up, guess we could all meet for a beer in Trier either Weds or Thurs night

Sal,
Sounds like a plan. Either night will work for us. I don't know Trier, but just name the place and we'll find it. Alternatively, if its a case of finding somewhere once we're there, I'll send out an email with my mobile number so we can make contact when we're there.

Just keeping my fingers crossed on the tickets now...

Speaking of tickets - has anyone else pre-ordered the Rally tickets, and if so have they received them yet? They mentioned they were being despatched 6 weeks before the event, which we're now within...oops...

Cheers,
Nick

If you want somewhere central to meet try 'The Irish bar', It was one of the most lively places last year & I'm sure there was only one which was slap bang in the centre of Trier town , theres a line of about 3 good German bars (Near a big square)just behind the Irish one, but I can't remember their names........Thats the effect their Beer has on you !

Tell me to bog off if ya think I'm being nosey..........I'm just jealous really !

555BOY, Bog off you nosey git

Theres gotta be some truth in that though... I don't know Trier, but in general, Irish bars in Germany are where the ex-pats tend to hang out and therefore have a more welcoming feel to them!

Also be warned the beer over here is much, much, stronger than the watery pish they give ye back in the UK! Be prepared to slow the pace down or expect severe memory loss the next morning (afternoon?)!!!!

Thumbs up

My tickets have now arrived .

Also German beer isn't any stronger... about 3.5% for a "Helles" (Light beer) or around 5% for a "Dunkles" (Dark = headache ) beer. It's the Oktoberfest stuff you need to be wary of (6.5%) or that beer the monks brew near here (11% ) .

Counting down the time now... should be great fun .

Richard

At least that way we'll have a day to sober up before the Rally starts!!!
