So who's going?
Are there any social plans?
Has anyone organised any meet & greets with Subaru (like has been done in the past with the Catalunya event)?

I am down for the week leading up to the event stopping in a hotel in Trier. If nothing has been done as yet, if someone can provide me with the Prodrive contact details I'd be happy to do the donkey work of trying to set up meeting with the team if there is interest.

Cheers, Nick

I'm going! Staying in Trier with Chris L, my Dad and Richard Gledhill and we also have passes for Subaru on the Friday along with the German scoobynet contingent. :)

We're driving over in the scoob and meeting Richard in his scoob over there. Which hotel are you staying in? We're in the Primavera in the centre of town.

I'm driving over with my Mum and Dad (although Mum's stopping by the pool I think!) - heading over on 19th and coming back on 28th.

Can't remember the hotel name off hand - I'll dig it out and drop you an email...

I've got Rally tickets on order, but how can I get Subaru passes...nudge nudge wink wink ;)

Scoobychick 24 June 2003 03:45 PM

Nick

I didn't organise the passes but I've emailed Richard who knows the guy that did to find out how/where he got them :)

Sal, you could have emailed me directly rather than Richard  Are you all set for the big event? :D

Nick, YHM!

Alastair.

Nick B 25 June 2003 09:28 AM

Sal & Alastair,
Thanks for the info. I'm sending off an email today to try to get on the full day.

We're stopping in the Hotel Villa Hugel just on the edge of town. Are there any plans for meeting up for drinks etc, or does everyone just converge on Friday?

Can't wait now.... :D :D

Cheers,
Nick

Scoobychick 25 June 2003 02:17 PM

Alastair, I would've except I hadn't got your email address or so I thought until I found it 2 seconds after I'd sent the email to Richard  :D

Nick, I like the idea of all meeting up, guess we could all meet for a beer in Trier either Weds or Thurs night :)

Nick B 25 June 2003 02:49 PM

Sal,
Sounds like a plan. Either night will work for us. I don't know Trier, but just name the place and we'll find it. Alternatively, if its a case of finding somewhere once we're there, I'll send out an email with my mobile number so we can make contact when we're there.

Just keeping my fingers crossed on the tickets now...

Speaking of tickets - has anyone else pre-ordered the Rally tickets, and if so have they received them yet? They mentioned they were being despatched 6 weeks before the event, which we're now within...oops...

Cheers,
Nick

If you want somewhere central to meet try 'The Irish bar', It was one of the most lively places last year & I'm sure there was only one which was slap bang in the centre of Trier town :D, theres a line of about 3 good German bars (Near a big square)just behind the Irish one, but I can't remember their names........Thats the effect their Beer has on you !

Tell me to bog off if ya think I'm being nosey..........I'm just jealous really !

BMWhere? 25 June 2003 10:28 PM

555BOY, Bog off you nosey git :D:D:D

Theres gotta be some truth in that though... I don't know Trier, but in general, Irish bars in Germany are where the ex-pats tend to hang out and therefore have a more welcoming feel to them!

Also be warned the beer over here is much, much, stronger than the watery pish they give ye back in the UK! Be prepared to slow the pace down or expect severe memory loss the next morning (afternoon?)!!!!

Scoobychick 26 June 2003 02:00 PM

Ah yes, the hazy memories of Irish bars in Germany...mmmmmmm strong beer :D:D:D

Nick B 26 June 2003 02:04 PM

So I guess a jug of beer each is a bad idea then ;)
Rally, what rally? :D :D :D

555 BOY 27 June 2003 07:52 PM

Ok I've officially 'Bogged Off' :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

LOL :D

Re-Bitten Hero 30 June 2003 06:32 PM

My tickets have now arrived :D:D:D.

Also German beer isn't any stronger... about 3.5% for a "Helles" (Light beer) or around 5% for a "Dunkles" (Dark = headache ;)) beer. It's the Oktoberfest stuff you need to be wary of (6.5%) or that beer the monks brew near here (11%:eek::eek:) :).

Counting down the time now... should be great fun :D.

So, hows about 8pm in the Irish Bar on Wednesday night - I'll have my Subaru cap with me ;) :D :D
At least that way we'll have a day to sober up before the Rally starts!!!

Re-Bitten Hero 05 July 2003 10:45 AM

I won't be there till Thursday, but I think Sal & Her Crew will be there on Wednesday night. Sal?
