It's not paint per se but plasti-dip does give a nice finish on interior plastics.SJ.

I did this with my old car and used a grey undercoat primer to take away any scuff makrs and inperfections, then with a very light sanding another coat. after that i put a couple of coats of colour on, ( both Plasti-kote ) and to finish i used a clear laquer just for protection and a bit of shine. hope this helps.

First car that isnt a VW and loving every second.!!

Impreza WRX import, only covered 80k miles.

unsure if this plastidip is going right. Followed the directions, but just applied my first coat and looks extremely orange peely and sprays quite blotchy.

Update: looks better once its dried, all that can see some blotchy bits here and there, its hard to spray on evenly when it comes out like it does

Make sure the can is warm as when cold can cause
blotchiness/uneven cover. Also after each coat hold the
can upside down and spray to clear the nozzle as a build
up of plasti dip will also cause blotchy spray.

Also, make sure you do about 5-6 coats as it makes it more
durable and easier to remove in the future.

I dipped my wing mirrors in the summer and it looks
perfect 6 months on.

The sand paper texture comes from using rattle cans, using a
spray gun gives a smoother finish.

Saying that I like the sandy finish.

it probably wouldn't be so bad if it was all over, but its in small patches.

Heating the can up seems to work abit better

Are you leaving enough time between coats, I left about
30 minutes between each as recommended. Also, are you
spraying indoors in a warm room(with ventilation) as this also helps.
