Blobeye Centre Console Swap
I am considering swapping for the later centre console but the heater controls are different, is it just a case of plugging the existing looms into the newer type controls or is there more to it?

I did this on my old wrx. Everything fits no problem. Only slight issues are that you need later handbrake, also stereo brackets and if you can get it there us a bracket under the heater vents, is a very good conversion and really transforms the interior, I also fitted later door cards and relocated mirror switch to door using later switchgear. But to answer your actual question the later heater controls are a straight swap plug on loom is the same

Being a Spec C I don't have the adjustable mirrors so the switchgear is not a problem.

Yes I needed a later handbrake lever but had to use the shorter cable off my old one, will be easy to see if you pick a lever up off eBay. Does your spec c have climate control or aircon as I have seen two types one has a sliding lever, if this is the case might not be straight swap but if climate then later dials will plug straight in no probs.

Just had a look at the controls and I have:
3 x rotary ***** (heater position, speed, hot/cold)
2 x round switches (heater rear screen and a/c)
1 x slide (air recirculation)

No Glenn, the trouble is that I've removed nearly all the crappy carbon fibre stick on inserts around the dash and door cards but either they were fitted to hide all the scratches on the dash or when I've pulled them off I've marked the dash.
Trying to get hold of the cover for the heater controls and radio panel is proving impossible as it appears that Spec C's with A/C are different to other models.
So I may as well change the lot or if I can't sort it I'll get the dash repaired and wrap the heater control/radio panel with a better quality 3M carbon fibre wrap.

I have seen a my05 spec c with slider controls and the ***** looked the same as earlier cars, maybe you could buy this panel new and get all other parts from any my05 car. Don't think full auto controls will fit to your loom.

It looks like I'll have to get the dash repaired and wrap the heater control panel, at least it will be all original I suppose.
