VERY nice looking dials there Mook !!!!
I can ensure you all that they fit like a glove (the dials in the pic are mounted on my car), and they do look awesome. If you also have some additional white-faced gauges, preferably Autometer Phantoms, the result is just great !
Another story is that if you manage to f**k up your tacho when replacing them, like I did, then it's not that nice.....
I tried asking around for a replacement kit for the tacho, but although I couldn't get an exact price yet from the local dealer, it's too much! It's so much that I'm now even considering leaving the original tacho needle to rest against the needle rest, and adding a Phantom 5" tacho on the side... with shift-light of course....

Mook,
I don't own a digital camera myself, but I'll have the camera again in a week, and I'll definitely send you some pics! Just have to get the darn tacho needle down to '0' first....

Unlucky i only broke 2 rev counters & on the 3rd i just melted the needle off with a soldering iron much safer than 2 spoon technique, may i also add i found nail clippers & small scissors were best bet 4 hacking off old dials.
Anyway if u want or need a list of subaru breakers 2 get replacements relatively cheaply drop me a line & i'll mail ya

Katana, FYI the set that MJDesigns made for me doesn't require the TEMP and FUEL needles to be removed, hence problems to occur only with the revcounter and the speedo.... but that's definitely enough

Nah, I didn't break it again. I used a hot knife to slice through the old plastic face bit. Still, it is an evil invention. I'm begining to suspect a dodgy connection somewhere. Will have a look tommorrow.

Guys, I'm working on some EL dials, which will fit over the needles and don't require any OE faces to be trimmed off as they provide there own lighting.
The dial faces above can also be made so as not to have to remove any needles,as they utilise the top lighting on the pre '97 dash. Brighter bulbs in top panel provide sufficient lighting for nightime illumination and give the same style lighting as the Phantoms have
Any normal replacement backlit dials will always require original faces to be removed

scooby_si,
tnx but you already sent me the list of brokers
I actually found two available rev counters, dunno if £60 + postage is a suitable price, though...
Mook,
during the past couple of weeks I've thought like "a couple of times" that why oh why didn't we make the rev and speedo dials the same way as the others... they're not backlit anyway. For those of you thinking of replacing your dials, I strongly recommend you have Mook make you a set which can be replaced without having to remove the needles!

Edited to include the pic...

The £60 was for the whole clock assembly, aother broker would have wanted the same £60 for just the revcounter!!!!
Thanks a million for the tip with the needle removal, it was very easy to melt the darn thing off, no probs that way, since I also had a couple of spare needles now...
