Default Door card removal

How do you take out the front door cards on a 05 blob eye to put new speakers in?

Remove the screw in the door pull, pull out window switch panel and unplug the connector, remove the screw that is in the gap left by the window switch panel. Reeve the inner door handle surround and then pull the door card from the bottom towards the inside of the car to release the push fit fittings then lift the door card off the top of the door

As above

The inner door handle surround is tricky and the plastic a little thin and brittle.......gently does it. Thats the worst part IMHO..

What doesn't fit - is it the mounting or the speaker depth. If it is the mounting I used the original speakers to make an MDF mount that fits the factory mounts and sat the speaker in a cut out in this, There's plenty of gen in this forum on how to do it

If it's the depth this can also help as it will add 8-12mm of spacing depending upon the MDF depth you use

You can get adapters like these...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SAK-2820-C...2#ht_508wt_905

Personally I find these a little flimsy (they were fitted to my car when I bought it) and the MDF ones where more solid. When I get my car back I'll be making a new set as mine got damp and have gone black and mouldy - but that'll be a few weeks time at least
