I am using the vinyl is from Taiwan, nice stuffs, very close to 3M, I love it. I am going to put some on my legacy tomorrow, and also redo my bonnet. Cos my REAL carbon bonnet is very not looking good at the moment, going to wrap it with this vinyl this weekend as well.

Folks, i tried to do this to my Bugeye stereo/heater controls but messed it up. Do you use a hair dryer or heat gun to soften the 3m? I couldnt get it to flatten down where the plastics angle inwards towards the double din stereo.....i removed the trim before trying it. Look at the OPs 5th pic to try and see what i mean

Any pointers?

MD

I get what you mean, with the 3m stuffs, you need to use heat gun to heat it up a bit longer, then pull it HARD on the round bit. Normal hair dryer is no use for the 3M stuffs.

If you still have any problem, let me to know, i am happy to help.

No problem, remember to heat it up a bit longer, and pull it hard.

I did mine about 2 years ago - it has slowly come off and bubbled up around the stereo surround and the front vents, time to try again I guess!

Samo - do you have any of the carbon vinyl stuff spare? I'm wanting enough to do the centre console area and plastics on the door cards. I'm guessing a couple of metres.

If you have some spare, van I buy some from ya? Pm me with a price and I'll see whT I can do. Could even collect from ya?

Thanks,

chris.

As it gets hot around the heater vents in winter it slowly comes unglued like when you heat it to fit - also I think I stretched it too much when fitting

I know what you mean now, but i dont think i will have that problem them, cos i over stretched it, and it still have lots of glue under it, plus i stretched it all over the back, so i am sure it wont come off, that is one of my friend told me about that.
