By the looks of it, these universal leather gaitors have elasticated bottoms (fnarr) so I don't see how they'll fit a scooby. Is there an extra mounting ring or something that you need?

Phoned Demon Tweeks today and they said none of the gaitor with chrome surrounds would fit scooby's. Not much help. Nitosport who advertise at the top box do one at 89.99. I had problems with their site and have mailed them for details and availibilty, that was at 2pm and am still waiting for a reply. Anyone dealt with them?

Have a look at Nitosport. Nito's stuff is top quality and you will find what you are looking for. Click on the 'Nitosport' banner on the home page.

Just ordered a leather gaiter with chrome surround from motorworld for £71.99, designed by application not universal so should fit, only problem is I havn't seen it so have ordered blind, should be about a week so will post when I get it, no digi cam though so I will have to describe it. Car is MY97. Still havn't got a reply from nitosport on their availibilty. Anyone near N.Yorks is welcome to meet and have a look when I've fitted it.

So do we reckon that none of the universal ones like these:
http://www.passionmotorsport.co.uk/solegaiterrac.htm
will fit?? 90 quid seems like an awful lot of cash for a specific scooby one when there are loads at less than a third of that.
Or am I just being a tight wad?!

it is the fact that most of these universal ones have an elasticated bottom as you say and the older interior has nothing to grip round.
I would tend to agree that some of these prices are a bit on the high side ! Then again I may just be a tight wad too!?
if you could at least mail me a pic that would be great
(de-cat centre or leather gaiter......no contest! )

Try your local friendly Subaru dealer...no, really, I tried to order a MY98 on leather(ish) gaiter but they just got me another rubber one!
Then the parts manager said they had one off a demo car I could have a look at - silver alloy base, alcantara suede gaiter. They only wanted £20 for it.

There'e a slight problem, gaitor arrived last friday, I decided to open it at the shop and the metal frame looked a tad small. I ripped off the nasty rubber thing and the new shiny metal frame dropped straight through the hole, ****, about 25mm all the way around. The shop couldn't get an answer til monday when he phoned to tell me the suppliers knew there was a problem, maybe they hoped it would fit, lots of welding and superglue. Anyway lad at the shop agreed it was pants and as they have no other supplier gave me a refund. I've given up on the cheap option and now have a loose rubber thingie flapping around the car. I've decided to cough up and have ordered a Nitosport one through Jamie at JW Racing, I've ordered most of my bits from him and the service has always been excellent. So there you go cheap options are apparently elusive. New Nito one should be here soon, pictures on their website if you decide to go for one.

Got the Nito one today, bit of a pain to fit but looks excellent, much better then that nasty rubbber thing. I'd definitely recommend it, price isn't ideal but it is worth it.
