Default 260 kph speedo

The guy who previously owned my car fitted those horrble Lockwood clock faces and in doing so he's done something to the rev counter so now it occasionally sticks and doesn't return to zero.

I've managed to get hold of a set of the correct clocks to change them but the speedo fitted is a 260kph one and mine was a 180kph. Both cable driven.

The question is this. Can I fit this speedo and will it be accurate? Also Will fitting it mean the limiter, currently at 180kph will be higher? 260kph?

Not sure what you mean by getting hold of "the correct clocks" if they are, as you go on to say, different?

If it were me, I'd try them first, check that things work, (ie: the wiring isn't slightly different), then see what the speedo does.

TBH, this isn't a common question , I've never seen it asked before, and can't answer it myself, nor can I pass on what I've seen.

Sorry if this isn't much help.

The wiring looks identical.

When I get time i'll try them and report back.

Fitted earlier and seems pretty accurate. Not had chance to drive on a private road and check the speed limiter though.

Theres a Hill climb the weekend so i'll test it then.

Yep, buy a delimiter kit, around £25 off e-bay.

I fitted the 260 k speedo hoping that it would set the limiter to 260k not 180k as per the old speedo.

No probs i'll fit the 180k one with a 110mph face.

TBH, I don't think it's the speedo that does the limiting.
