Suggestions for best way 2 melt off needle?

Right it seems rev dial i received does work in it's current state.
So that being the case the next mission is 2 burn the needle off, since i have 2 spare (from previous bust uns) & dont wana risk killing the spindle with da 2 spoon thing again!
I was thinking of using the sun 2 melt in a schoolboy magnifying (well camera lens) styleeee the dial but i want it dun 4 "the big one" this weekend & the sun may hide
So other than a lighter any other cunning plans 2 destroy the needle off it's current location?

Give it a going over with a hair dryer. Should be sufficient to heat up the hub and loosen it for the spoons if you warm it for a good couple of minutes. Given your problems to date, you'll know how much force knackers it so once it's heated up it should pop off before it gets to that point. Good luck
